Surveying Trees Assessing Risk

Trees need to be checked to ensure that they are not a hazard. Trees can fail due to weak forks or fungi eating them away so reducing their strength. If someone is injured, or even killed, by a falling tree it not only affects those who know the victim but also the reputation of the club. This half day workshop will introduce all those who have a responsibility for their Golf Club’s treescape to be able to assess risks and detect foreseeable hazards.

Learning Outcomes:

  • The need in surveying trees, assessing risks
  • Trees and the law
  • Trees and fungi
  • Trees and their weaknesses
  • What action to take when finding trees are at risk
  • Understand who are the stewards of the trees
