GCMA - Principles of Golf Club Management (Day 3 of 3)

This course provides an understanding of the essential management skill set required by the modern Golf Club Manager. It gives contex to how the of ice and committee structures works. It includes interactive sessions enabling delegates to explore legislation, HR, marketing and governance issues with leading industry experts and discuss the golfing environment and its varied challenges.


Day One - Sunday 21st January - Managing the golf club, Club finances, Course rating and the unified handicapping system

Day Two - Monday 22nd January - Marketing, Club Governance and Legislation 

Day Three - Tuesday 23rd January - Food and Beverages, Managing your stuff and Social Media


Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the key skills that golf club managers require 
  • Gain a basic knowledge of HR issues and legislation
  • Understand the basic legislation requirements which affect all golf clubs
  • Gain a basic understanding of the Food and Beverage operation
  • Understand the differing governance structures within golf clubs and the needs to adapt within both private proprietary and commercial clubs
