Identifying and Managing Turf Diseases

The ability to identify turfgrass diseases and to understand the causes of them is increasingly important as we face an uncertain future with regards to the control measures that we have come to rely on over the past half century. This workshop will introduce the common turfgrass diseases, their symptoms and causes, and will discuss the various treatment options available to us.

• Learn the names of the most significant cool-season turfgrass diseases 
• Learn the principal of the ‘Disease Triangle’ 
• The grass species affected by each disease 
• Environmental conditions under which each disease develops 
• Management options available to address diseases 
• Chemical options available to address diseases
