This class is being held at the Bernhard Academy at Moortown. Transport to and from the Academy will be provided from Harrogate Convention Centre. Please wear suitable workwear and safety boots.
This one‑day, hands on class is ideal for anyone involved in the operation, supervision or maintenance of turfcare machinery. It will provide practical basic training to complete daily checks, make adjustments, fault find and undertake basic repairs.

Barry began his career as a greenkeeper before qualifying as a golf course mechanic in 1991. Throughout his career, he has worked with industry-leading brands such as Toro and Bernhard and Company, as well as running businesses specialising in golf equipment sales, hire and service. Passionate about education and professional development, Barry founded the Irish School of Turf Mechanic to provide specialised training for sports turf professionals. He is a familiar face on the tournament support circuit, having contributed to prestigious events including the Ryder Cup and Walker Cup.
