- Building a Fertiliser Plan for Beginners
Building a Fertiliser Plan for Beginners
Aimed at assistants, first assistants and deputy head greenkeepers who have never had the responsibility of building a fertiliser programme for their golf course, this class is also suitable for newly appointed course managers or those who would like a refresher on the topic.
Initially, there will be a teaching session on the role of nutrients, different sources of nutrition available, soil tests and calculating nutrient input.
The final part of the class will be interactive and attendees will put together a fertiliser programme for themselves and the results will be discussed. This is a relaxed day where there are no wrong answers!
Kelly has worked in the sportsturf industry for 18 years, beginning her career in sports construction. She currently works for Origin Amenity Solutions (OAS) as agronomy technical manager for the group. The role enables her to spend time in the field, identifying sector issues and feeding the information back to the OAS research and development team at Throws Technology Centre.
Geoff has been involved in the turf industry for more than 30 years, including 20 years in day-to-day turf management and maintenance. He now heads up the research and development programme for OAS at Throws Technology Centre, where trials are running on fine turf and sports turf both in the laboratory and the greenhouse.
