Motivational management that works

Queen's Suite 2

Motivation is one of the most discussed but often least understood and least used management concepts. There are plenty of theories about motivation but not one of them gives us a complete picture. Motivating your team on a wet, cold morning will certainly be more challenging than it is on a bright spring day. Motivating the person near to retirement has different challenges to those with younger team members. It is not easy, however this class will provide you with lots of tips and techniques to support you to get the most out of your willing and less willing team members. Covering the basics around motivation theory through to effective ways to gain the respect and support of your team, it will provide you with a toolkit for implementation back in the workplace.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand what works when motivating others
  • Know how to motivate yourself in difficult circumstances
  • Know how to effectively delegate
  • Be able to manage team conflict in the right way
  • Develop a motivation toolkit for use back in the workplace
