Prioritise needs, forget numbers - give the plant what it needs

For years, conventional greenkeeping has focused heavily on nitrogen (N) numbers and standardised fertilisation programmes, often leading to turf deficiencies rather than true plant health. Chasing sustainability with outdated methods can create imbalances, forcing course managers into a cycle of overcorrection rather than efficient, proactive management. By shifting the focus to what the plant actually needs rather than arbitrary application rates we’ve challenged long‑standing industry beliefs. Through comprehensive data collection and the implementation of Consolidate Turf, we’ve developed a streamlined approach that optimises inputs while maintaining world class playing surfaces. This data driven strategy not only simplifies turf management but also enhances sustainability, reducing waste and improving overall plant resilience. With this methodology, course managers now have a more effective, science backed way to achieve elite conditions without the guesswork or reliance on outdated conventional wisdom.
