Put your own oxygen mask on first: managing your own wellbeing for the benefit of your team
The class begins by unpacking some of the most common bad habits leaders in the golf industry get themselves into. It will then concentrate on why a lot of these practices are counter‑productive and affect the long term stability and objectives of the team and the individual’s career aspirations.
Using a poll app we will seek to establish the opinion in the room regarding the importance of some of the more common counter‑productive habits in the industry. We will then discuss the process that delegates should look to go through that will enable them to make the changes they identify for themselves.
Finally, using the same app as we did at the start of the session, we will seek to establish how their views on the questions we asked earlier may have changed, before moving into the creation of a personal action plan for use upon their return to work as well as creating an online community to support each other in carrying out these changes.
Learning outcomes
- Identify the practices that the delegate currently embarks upon that adversely affects their own wellbeing
- Develop the ability to independently assess whether a working practice or culture has a positive or negative effect on their wellbeing
- Identify why the delegate’s own wellbeing is essential to the success of the team
- To develop a personal action plan that will enable delegates to make positive changes upon their return to the workplace and ensure long term success
