This class is for greenkeepers and assistant greenkeepers who aspire to develop their career to take the step up to a supervisory role. It will offer an insight into how to enhance your personal and professional skills to increase your opportunities when seeking your next role.

Golf Course Manager at North Hants Golf Club. Sam has been in greenkeeping since the age of 19, managed 3 courses in total, with his first at the age of 24. Now 35 years old, two young children and a dog called Digger.

John McLoughlin

Course Manager Wallasey Golf Club

John McLoughlin is the course manager at Wallasey Golf Club in Merseyside and has been with the club since 2020. He began his career at Gleneagles and then travelled to Australia and America, working and touring golf clubs. On his return he took up the position of Deputy head greenkeeper at Grange Park Golf Club and in 2015 became Course Manager at The Warrington Golf Club in 2015. John is a graduate of the first FTMI class in 2013 and is also a mentor for the programme.
